At Dela Teaches LLC, we are committed to respecting and safeguarding your privacy. This Privacy Policy specifically governs your use of our mobile application, Dela Teaches Ewe (the "App"), available on mobile platforms including Apple iOS and Google Android.

This policy details what information the App collects, how that information is handled, how we utilize third-party services such as Google LLC for advertising and analytics tracking, and your choices under Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

1. Summary of Data Practices

The table below provides an at-a-glance summary of our data collection, tracking, and sharing practices in compliance with Apple App Store specifications:

Data Category Collected by App? Shared with Third Parties? Purpose & Notes
Personal Contact Info (Name, Email, Phone, Address) No No No user registration or account creation is required to use Dela Teaches Ewe.

Advertising Identifiers & Tracking (Apple IDFA / Google GAID) Only with User Permission Yes (Google AdMob) On iOS 14.5+, tracking requires explicit permission through Apple's ATT prompt. If denied, non-personalized ads are shown.
Approximate Location (Country / Region level) Coarse only (via IP) Yes (Google LLC) Derived by third-party ad/analytics networks to serve regional ads and analyze aggregate trends. No precise GPS is collected.

2. Information We Do Not Collect Directly

Dela Teaches LLC believes in minimal data collection. When you install and use Dela Teaches Ewe:

  • No Account Required: You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide your name, email address, physical address, or phone number.
  • Local Progress Storage: Your learning progress—including completed vocabulary lists, quiz scores, spelling results, and selected preferences—is saved entirely on your local device using on-device storage. If you uninstall the App or clear your device application cache, your local learning history is removed.
  • No Voice Recording: While the App contains an audio player to help you hear authentic Ewe pronunciations, the App plays audio locally and does not record, stream, or store your voice.

3. Information Collected Automatically & Google SDKs

To support ongoing development and deliver advertisements that keep the App free to use, Dela Teaches Ewe integrates software development kits (SDKs) provided by Google LLC. In the future, we will also use Google services to perform analytics and tracking.

A. Google Mobile Ads (Google AdMob)

The App displays banner and interstitial advertisements via the Google Mobile Ads SDK. When an ad request is initiated, Google may automatically collect and process certain device and diagnostic information, including:

  • Device information (such as hardware model, operating system version, screen size, and device orientation).
  • Internet Protocol (IP) address, which may indicate your general geographic location (e.g., country or metropolitan area).
  • Mobile advertising identifiers (Apple IDFA on iOS or Google Advertising ID on Android), subject to your tracking choices and consent.
  • Interaction data, such as ad impressions, clicks, and viewability metrics.

When tracking permission has not been granted by you, ad requests are configured to request non-personalized ads. Non-personalized ads are contextual and rely on general content rather than historical profile data, although they may still utilize coarse location and frequency capping identifiers.

B. Google Analytics / Firebase (Tracking & Diagnostics)

To understand how users interact with the App, identify bugs, and improve educational content, we will incorporate Google Analytics tools (such as Google Analytics for Firebase). These services collect aggregated telemetry data including:

  • Screens viewed and duration of study sessions.
  • User taps, navigation events, and feature interactions (such as taps on vocabulary categories, flashcard flips, quiz responses, spelling exercises, and audio playback controls).
  • Category engagement (e.g., which vocabulary groups or quizzes are accessed most frequently).
  • Diagnostic data, performance metrics, and application crash reports.

This information is processed in pseudonymized and aggregated formats to optimize application stability, usability, and educational effectiveness.

Google Privacy Disclosures

For comprehensive details on how Google processes, stores, and protects data collected through its SDKs, please refer to Google's official policies:

4. Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT) & IDFA

On Apple iOS (versions 14.5 and later), Apple requires developers to obtain user permission before collecting or using the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) to track users across apps and websites owned by other companies for targeted advertising or advertising measurement.

What Is "Tracking" Under Apple Guidelines?

According to Apple's App Store Review Guidelines, "tracking" refers to the act of linking user or device data collected from our App with user or device data collected from other companies' apps, websites, or offline properties for targeted advertising or advertising measurement purposes, or sharing user or device data with data brokers.

Your Choices Under the ATT Prompt

When you open Dela Teaches Ewe on iOS, you may be presented with an Apple App Tracking Transparency dialog asking: "Allow 'Dela Teaches Ewe' to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites?"

  • If you tap "Allow": Google AdMob and Google Analytics may access your device's IDFA to provide personalized advertisements tailored to your interests and measure the performance of advertising campaigns.
  • If you tap "Ask App not to Track": The App will strictly respect your decision. The IDFA will be zeroed out, no cross-app tracking will occur, and only non-personalized, contextual advertisements will be requested.

How to View or Change Your Tracking Choice at Any Time

You have the right to modify your tracking preferences at any time directly through your iOS device settings:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Apple device.
  2. Scroll down and select Privacy & Security.
  3. Tap Tracking.
  4. Locate Dela Teaches Ewe in the list and toggle the permission switch Off (to revoke tracking) or On (to grant tracking).
  5. Alternatively, you can turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" at the top of the Tracking menu to automatically block all tracking requests across all applications on your device.

5. Third-Party Data Protections (Apple Guideline 5.1.1)

In accordance with Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(i), we verify and confirm that any third party with whom Dela Teaches Ewe shares user or device data—specifically Google LLC—maintains strict organizational, contractual, and technical safeguards that provide the same or equal level of protection of user data as stated in this Privacy Policy and required by Apple's developer guidelines.

We do not sell your personal information, nor do we transfer data to third parties for purposes unrelated to the operational functionality, performance diagnostics, and advertising operations of Dela Teaches Ewe.

6. Data Retention & Storage Security

  • Local Learning Data: Vocabulary progress, study metrics, and quiz & spelling results remain stored solely on your device indefinitely until you choose to uninstall the App or clear device application data.
  • Analytics & Diagnostic Logs: Diagnostic telemetry and aggregated analytics collected by Google are retained according to Google's standard retention policies (typically between 2 and 14 months) before automated pseudonymization or deletion.
  • Security Safeguards: Although no method of electronic storage or wireless transmission is 100% impenetrable, all network requests made by third-party SDKs within the App are transmitted over secure, encrypted channels utilizing standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Family Friendly)

Dela Teaches Ewe is designed as an educational language learning resource for people of all ages interested in learning the Ewe language (Èʋegbe). We take special care regarding minors:

  • We do not knowingly collect, request, or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions) without verified parental consent.
  • Because the App requires no account creation, no names, email addresses, phone numbers, or photos are ever collected from any user, including children.
  • Advertising SDK configurations are set to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information or if you are a parent/guardian wishing to request the deletion of any associated data, please contact us immediately at info@delateaches.com.

8. Your Privacy Rights & Revoking Consent

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the European Economic Area under GDPR, the United Kingdom, California under CCPA/CPRA, and other US states), you may have certain rights concerning your data:

  • Right of Access & Portability: The right to know what personal data is processed about you. Because we do not maintain accounts or identifiable user databases, our third-party partner (Google) handles pseudonymous identifiers as detailed in Google's privacy portal.
  • Right to Opt Out of Tracking / Sale / Sharing: You can opt out of cross-app tracking at any time using Apple's ATT settings (explained in Section 4) or by resetting your advertising identifier in your mobile device's privacy menu.
  • Right to Erasure / Deletion: You can delete all local learning records by uninstalling the App from your device. For questions regarding server logs or third-party partner data deletion, contact us at info@delateaches.com.

9. Updates to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect modifications in our features, technological enhancements, third-party tracking configurations, or applicable legal and regulatory standards (including updates from Apple App Store policies). Any revisions will be published directly on this page with an updated "Effective Date." We encourage users to review this page periodically.
